ChristianaCare is hiring a full-time Registered Dietitian I our hospital in Newark, DE.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Neonatal/Pediatric Dietitian to join our Clinical Nutrition Services team. This role specializes in medical nutrition therapy for neonatal and pediatric populations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical experience, critical thinking skills, and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration to support optimal growth and outcomes in complex patient populations.

This position has an opportunity for advancement with a clinical ladder.

  • Monday - Friday, Day Shift

  • Flexible scheduling available, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for neonatal and pediatric patients, including premature and medically complex infants
  • Develop and manage enteral and parenteral nutrition plans, including TPN/macronutrient adjustments in collaboration with the care team
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, working closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, nursing, pharmacy, and SLP
  • Monitor growth trends, labs, feeding tolerance, and clinical status to optimize nutrition outcomes
  • Support human milk and formula management, including fortification strategies and specialized feeding plans
  • Provide family-centered education and counseling for caregivers
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, guideline development, and evidence-based practice changes
  • Precept interns and new staff, supporting professional development within the department

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) required

  • Experience as a clinical dietitian in an acute care facility preferred.

  • Master’s Degree required after graduating in 2024, as required by Commission on Dietetic Registration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICU and/or pediatric clinical experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with neonatal growth standards, human milk fortification, TPN enteral and parenteral feeding management, and feeding challenges (e.g., prematurity, GI disorders)
  • Advanced credential (or pursuit of): CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) or CSP (Certified Specialist in Pediatrics)
  • Experience participating in or leading multidisciplinary care teams or specialty programs

Special Requirements:

  • Required to maintain Commission of Dietetic Registration requirements and Licensure with the State of Delaware and/or Maryland as applicable at time of hire.

Hourly Pay Range: $29.22 - $43.83

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
